A suspected narcotics transporter was arrested on Monday with over five pounds of cocaine in his possession.
The bust was made by agents of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit. The drug enforcement unit has since indicated that the cocaine carried a street value of $13.8 Million.
The bust took place during a CANU operation in Campbellville.
The operation was being carried out when CANU agents spotted the suspect riding a bicycle and carrying a bag. The agents identified themselves to the man who attempted to escape but crashed into a car.
He was immediately arrested and the cocaine was found in the bag that he was carrying.
CANU said the cocaine packages were in the form of two bricks.
The investigations into the bust are ongoing. The suspect is expected in Court in time for the holidays.
