A search is on for three Berbice men following the discovery of more than 80 pounds of marijuana in rice bags.

The bust was made by agents of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit in the community of Dukestown in Corentyne, Berbice. The CANU agents were acting on information that they received.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. The three men were carrying the bags on their shoulders, but dropped them and ran after spotting the CANU agents.

A search of the two bags unearthed the 15 parcels of marijuana.

CANU is leading the probe of the discovery.
