A 30-year-old woman was arrested by the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit on Wednesday after she attempted to ship a cocaine laden box of Guyanese snacks.
The arrested woman has been identified by CANU as Pathrina Pilgrim of North Road, Bourda in Georgetown.
A statement from CANU revealed that 534 grams of cocaine was found in the false bottom of the box that contained coconut biscuits, mettai, chicken foot and other local snacks.
The box was being shipped through Caribbean Airlines at the Eugene F. Correia Airport at Ogle. It was destined for an address in Brooklyn, New York.
