The Customs Officer from Linden who was arrested for the stabbing of his wife was today charged and remanded to prison for attempted murder.
44-year-old Michael Hercules appeared at the Linden Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Wanda Fortune.
The Court was told that on the 19th March at Bucktown Creek in Linden, Hercules attacked and stabbed his wife repeatedly in his car during an argument.
He was not required to enter a plea to the charge and was immediately remanded to jail where he will remain until the case comes up again on the 3rd May.
The injured woman remains hospitalized nursing stab wounds to her chest, right foot, and hands.
The Police report of the incident indicated that after the woman was stabbed, the accused escaped from the scene. The injured woman managed to call family members who rushed to the area and took her to the hospital.
It is believed that the accused thought she was dead after she was stabbed multiple times.
