Diamond resident granted bail for unlawful wounding during row

The 36-year-old accused, Roderick Ibbot, appeared before the Chief Magistrate and was granted $75,000 bail by Chief Magistrate, Ann Mclennan after he was charged for the unlawful wounding of Mortimer John.

A Diamond resident today found himself before the Court facing unlawful wounding charges.

The 36-year-old accused, Roderick Ibbot, appeared before the Chief Magistrate and was granted $75,000 bail by Chief Magistrate, Ann Mclennan after he was charged for the unlawful wounding of Mortimer John.

The Court heard that on June 27, 2017, the two men had a disagreement and it wad during the row that Ibbot armed himself with a cutlass and chopped John several times to his body. 

The victim is still recovering from his injuries.

After listening to the facts of the matter, the Chief Magistrate granted bail to the accused in the sum of $75,000 and  he was told to report to the Police every Monday and Friday until his next court hearing on October 13, 2017.
