East Ruimveldt Chef arrested for murder of Linden businessman

Two weeks after a Linden businessman was found in his shop tied up and shot to death, Police investigators have arrested his alleged assailant.

The Guyana Police Force announced on Friday that an intelligence led operation has led to the arrest of East Ruimveldt resident, John Caesar, who is reportedly a Chef.

He was arrested on Friday and is being processed for Court. That Court appearance will come early in the new week.

Caesar was the man fingered in the gunning down of Linden businessman, Romel Edison Gomes on March 12. The man was found with his hands tied and mouth gagged and shot to death in his own shop.

It was suspected that it was a robbery/murder. His car was also stolen but was later found abandoned in Linden.

A resident who lives nearby had gone to the man’s shop when she noticed two men inside with the man tied up. She told investigators that one of the men was armed with a gun and as she ran for help, she heard gunshots.

When the Police arrived, the assailants had already made their escape.
