An East Ruimveldt man has been taken into custody by the Guyana Police Force after investigators found an “UZI sub-machine gun with 14 matching rounds, a .38 special revolver with 6 rounds and 482 grams of marijuana his house.
A search was carried out on the house early on Thursday morning. It is unclear what led investigators to the house to conduct searches.
Although the Police Source said the man who was arrested remains in custody to assist with the investigations, his name was not released.
The Police Force has been trying to clamp down on illegal firearms and gun running all across the country.
Just two weeks ago, an East Coast Demerara man was arrested after a barrel addressed to him from a New York shipper, was busted with several guns after it arrived at a city wharf.
