(Sun Sentinel) After shooting and killing a 30-year-old Guyanese man, a 17-year-old instructed his girlfriend to help him dump the body, according to an arrest report.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Thursday arrested Mike Cadet and his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Tucciarone, 18, for their role in the murder of Guyanese national, Michael Sears in August.

According to the report, after Cadet shot Sears multiple times, the couple threw his body into a lake near West Palm Beach where he was later found.

Deputies said on Aug. 28, Sears met up with Cadet and Tucciarone at the Newton Woods community near West Palm Beach for reasons that are unclear in the arrest report. Cadet and Sears began to argue, Tucciarone later told deputies, and she was instructed to go inside.

From the window, she watched the argument and called a friend on the phone. Then, she told deputies, she saw Cadet shoot Sears multiple times.

“Oh my God, Mikey put the gun down!” She yelled, according to the friend, who was interviewed by deputies. “I think he just shot someone! I have to go.”

Tucciarone ran outside and Cadet asked her to help him put the body inside of Sears’ truck, according to the report. Together, the couple took Sears’ body and threw it into a lake west of Fair Green Road.

After they got rid of the body, the couple drove around town while Cadet tried to pawn the jewelry Sears had been wearing, deputies said.

They left Sears’ truck in the front of the Newton Woods development, according to the report.

In the next two days, Tucciarone called multiple friends and asked them if they had ever killed anyone, or if they had ever gotten rid of a body, deputies said.

Cadet also texted friends, according to the report, trying to find a place to stay temporarily. One friend asked if Tucciarone could help Cadet, but Cadet told the friend Tucciarone’s father is a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy — which the Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday.

She eventually told her mother, who took her to the West Palm Beach Police Department to make a statement.

Deputies found Sears’ truck, which had a large amount of blood inside of it. And they found Sears in the lake, less than a half mile from Cadet’s house.

On Sept. 2, detectives interviewed Cadet, who said he and Tucciarone were in Boynton Beach the day of the murder and denied being involved.

Cadet’s brother, William Booth, was arrested on Sept. 21 for lying to investigators about a text message conversation he had with Cadet. He is charged with making a false report for giving investigators false information.

Tucciarone is charged with being an accessory for first degree murder after the fact and tampering with evidence. She is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bail.

Cadet is being charged with first degree murder. Because he is a juvenile, he is being held at the Juvenile Assessment Center.
