Police investigators in New York are probing the murder of former Guyana national tennis coach, Esan Benn.

The 51-year-old who migrated to the United States several years ago was found on a city street in midtown Manhattan, New York city.

Benn is the father of Guyanese singer Esan Benzy.

The Police Department in New York in a statement said Benn had multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a hospital after being found, but died while being taken for emergency care.

Four stab wounds were found on his body and the entire incident was captured on surveillance video recordings in the area, which is close to the popular Times Square. In one of the surveillance video recordings, Benn was seen stumbling after he was stabbed.

There have been no arrests in the case, but the investigations are ongoing.
