Gold miner remanded to prison over murder of “drinking buddy”

A young miner was today remanded to prison by Magistrate Fabayo Azore, after he was charged for the murder of his “drinking buddy”.

24-Year- Old, Stanislaus Clement stood before the court and was not allowed to enter a plea after the charge of murder was read to him.

The Prosecution’s case is that on April 5th, 2017 at Mahdia Landing, Potaro River, Clement murdered Reginald Charles aka “Short Man” during an alcohol drinking spree.

The Court heard that the two men were consuming alcoholic beverages, when an argument started.

During the argument,  the accused, Stanislaus Clement, allegedly armed himself with a broken bottle and dealt his friend and “drinking buddy” Reginald Charles several stabs about his body.

The Court was also told that before the man collapsed, he attempted to seek medical help.

Clement was arrested and brought to the city to face the murder charge. He has been remanded to prison. The matter will come up again later this month.
