GT&T staffer killed in Mabura accident

The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company on Tuesday afternoon confirmed that one of its staffers was killed in a horrific accident in the Mabura area in Region 10. The staffer has been identified as Trevon Morris and is believed to be a contract worker.

Two other staffers were air dashed to Georgetown for medical treatment. They are being treated for serious injuries. They have been identified as Jermaine Prince and Lawrence Harris. The body of the dead man has also been brought to the city.

The accident occurred close to 11am on Tuesday morning in an area called 57 Miles which is located close to Mabura Hill. Company officials said details were sketchy about how the accident occurred. The persons were heading to the interior area of Lethem to carry out technical work for the company.

The Company has been doing extensive expansion work at various interior location.
