With over 125,000 arriving passengers processed in the past month, Guyana is on track to welcome its one millionth arriving passenger by November, according to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
In a statement, it was noted that between the beginning of January and the end of September, a total of 801,000 arrivals were processed. Chief Executive Officer of the Cheddi Jagan Airport, Ramesh Ghir said events like the Caribbean Premier League Cricket competition, have contributed significantly to the surge in arrivals.
Mr. Ghir said the growth in passenger traffic has also been fueled by increased airline connectivity with a number of the airlines offering additional destinations and more seats.
