Guyana has recorded three more COVID-19 related deaths and 123 new cases, according to the Ministry of Health.
The majority of the new cases have been recorded in Regions 4, 6 and 9.
There is growing concern that Region 9 which borders Brazil is seeing another spike in new cases of the virus.
Region 4 which is the highest populated region and home to the nation’s capital, continues to lead the country in the number of new and active cases as well as related deaths.
The total number of cases recorded since the start of the pandemic in Guyana passed 19,000 over the weekend, with the total number of recoveries standing at just over 17,000.
As of Sunday, there are 1,555 active cases with 1448 of those positive cases in home isolation. Of the 107 hospitalized persons across the country, 21 are in the intensive care unit.
