Guyhoc man dies after stabbing by girlfriend’s brother during bicycle row

A 23-year-old mason from Guyhoc Park who was stabbed to the chest on Saturday by the brother of his girlfriend has died.

The mason, Daniel Boutrin passed away this morning at the Georgetown Hospital this morning.

A Police report of the stabbing incident stated that the two men got into an argument over a bicycle while Boutrin was at the D’ Field Sophia home of his girlfriend.

Boutrin had reportedly borrowed his brother-in-law’s bicycle last year and misplaced it. He never replaced it and on Saturday when they saw each other, an argument broke out between them.

According to the Police, the parents of the suspect brought the argument to an end and asked their son to leave the premises.

Some time after as Boutrin was about to board a taxi, the suspect reappeared and stabbed him repeatedly to the chest. Boutrin tried to fight back but collapsed to the ground. He was taken to the Georgetown Hospital where he remained until his death this morning.

The suspect has not been seen since the incident. The Police probe continues.
