Police investigators in Berbice have arrested a West Coast Berbice man for the murder of his own brother.
44-year-old Shieldstown village resident, Khemlall Bisnauth is accused of stabbing his 45-year-old brother, Saranandand Bisnauth to death over an argument over a plot of land.
Moments before the incident, the two men were seen enjoying alcoholic drinks in the community but once they got home, an argument broke out between them over the land that is owned by their elderly father.
It was during that argument that the younger brother armed himself with a knife and stabbed his brother to the chest in the region of his heart.
The injured man was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead and the brother was immediately taken into custody.
He is likely to face the Courts this week.
