Harmon accuses Government of “mismanagement” in first 100 days

As the PPP Civic Government marked its 100 days in Government with video recorded testimonials being aired across the country, the Opposition APNU+AFC mounted a protest outside the Office of the President, accusing the 100-day old government of mismanagement.

Opposition Leader Joe Harmon said there has been mismanagement at every level since the new government took office and that must not be brushed aside.

“They have violated elements of the Constitution, they have violated the human rights of many of our citizens, and they continue to behave in a manner that gives lawlessness a place to reside in the building behind us (Office of the President)”, Harmon said.

The Opposition Leader said the resurgence in the drug trade also points to mismanagement and made mention of the Government’s decision to disband the National Anti Narcotics Agency just after it took office. He said the PPP Civic administration’s missteps are clear to see.

“When you can see the resurgence of some criminal gangs in this country, you know that we are in a bad place”, the Opposition Leader said.

PNC Reform Leader and former President David Granger was also part of the protest action, which he described as more of a movement than a protest by a political party.

The APNU+AFC today said the PPP Civic administration deserves a grade F+ for its management of the country’s affairs since taking office. The coalition intends to keep putting pressure on the government as the election petition cases are set to begin.
