Home Affairs Ministry urges payment of traffic tickets

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a call for persons who were issued with traffic tickets to pay up. In a release issued on Tuesday the Ministry said that it has noticed that there are outstanding payments for several traffic tickets that were issued in 2013 and 2014.

“From the information gleaned thus far, quite a number of motorists have not been paying their fines. On completion of the reconciliation exercise, the Ministry will be instituting measures to recoup outstanding fines”, the statement said.

The Ministry wants “those delinquent motorists who still have unpaid traffic tickets are advised to pay the required fines without delay or contest those tickets in Court.”

The release did not indicate the number of outstanding payments.
