The incident took place in the community of Foulis on the East Coast of Demerara. The dead man has been identified as 26-year-old labourer Rudendra Persaud.
A Police report explained that Persaud was at the wedding house of a family member enjoying the celebrations when a brawl started and he was hit repeatedly to the head with pieces of wood by two men who are known to the family.
