The man who was chased down and beaten by Tucville residents who said they witnessed his execution type murder of Sheldon Cheddie aka DJ Cheddie, was charged for murder on Thursday.
The man whose name was given as Omar Williams was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge. He appeared in court with several injuries to his body and dressed in a hospital robe.
He has been hospitalised since the incident on Monday night. The Police case is that on Tuesday, September 10 at Tucville, Georgetown, Sheldon Cheddie was sitting at the corner of his street when the accused Omar Williams walked up to him and fired several shots into his body. Williams was caught and handed over to police by residents.
Police investigators believe the accused may have been hired as a hit man to commit the murder. He is believed to be a resident of Suriname.
