Police investigators are seeking information on the identity of man who was found murdered on Middle Road, La Penitence this morning.
The man’s body was discovered just after 3:45 this morning with gunshot wounds. The Police said investigators have no information on the man’s identity or address.
A statement from the Guyana Police Force said investigating ranks arrived at the scene this morning at around 4 o’clock and found the man’s body lying on its left side in a crouched position in a pool of blood.
The man was clad in a blue long pants, and a blue and white striped jersey with red boxer shorts and a pair of black Nike slippers.
Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the scene and officially pronounced the man dead. The Police said a gunshot wound was noticed to the man’s forehead, with an exit wound to the back of the head.
One (1) spent shell was recovered at the scene and the body has since been taken to the Memorial Funeral Home for identification and a post mortem examination.
The Police said CCTV cameras were observed in the area and the footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Guyana Police Force is appealing to anyone with information that may assist in identifying the deceased to contact the nearest Police Station or call 911.
