NGSA 2024 set for May 2 and 3

Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, has announced that the 2023 National Grade Six Assessment Examinations will take place on the 2nd and 3rd May, 2024.

In announcing the dates on Thursday, the Education Minister also said the results for the exams will be available on or before the 10th July, 2024.

“There will be two mock exams as usual, one will be in January and the other will be in will be sometime in March. And we want to remind everyone, the parents, teachers and students, that we have given to all Grade Six children, the relevant text books that they need and its a very nice collection of books which ought to be able to support all of the learning that is required and we have posted videos of every single topic that will be covered on The Learning Channel and on Youtube”, she said.

Minister Manickchand also reminded parents that additional information related to the NGSA exams and learning material, are also available on the Ministry of Education’s website.

She said the children who will sit the NGSA exams in 2024 are those who were badly affected by the closure of schools for almost two years during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that fact is not lost on the Education Ministry as it prepares the exams.

Thousands of students from across the country are listed to sit the national examination which is used as a placement for their admission to secondary school.
