The Guyana Elections Commission today reported that since the start of the claims and objections period almost a month ago, there have been 3,924 new registrations while 9516 persons have applied for transfers in their registration.
The information was released today by GECOM Public Relations Officer, Yolanda Warde.
Ms. Warde also revealed that there have been 32 objections in total, 1672 corrections to registrations and 472 persons had their photos redone.
The total number of transactions completed by yesterday stand at 17,243.
The PRO also revealed that the list from the house to house registration process is currently being displayed across the country for public scrutiny and for persons to verify their information.
She said if there are changes to the information on the list, those persons are being asked to visit the closest GECOM office in their area to have their information updated.
The Claims and Objections period comes to an end in the next two weeks and eligible voters across the country are being encouraged to check the preliminary list of electors to ensure they are on the list and the information about them is correct.
Persons can check the voter’s list online on the GECOM website to verify their information.
