Eccles resident, Andrew Morgan was arrested on Monday morning after more than 7 pounds of cocaine and .32 firearm, and 25 rounds of ammunition were discovered at his Eccles, East Bank Demerara home.

The 52-year-old Andrew Morgan was arrested at the house. Morgan is the brother of former race car driver Peter Morgan who was convicted of drug trafficking in the US in 2010.

He spent just over five years in jail after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges and was deported in 2015.

CANU’s operation at the home of the younger brother, Andrew Morgan started early on Monday morning and the discoveries were made within hours of the start of the searches.

Andrew Morgan has long been on the radar of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit and international drug enforcement agents as a suspected drug trafficker. It is unclear what triggered the Monday operation at his Eccles home.
