PNC Reform’s Congress and Elections to take place in June

The Central Executive Committee of the People’s National Congress has agreed to host the party’s delegates congress and elections at the end of June.

News Source has confirmed that the party’s congress and elections have now been set for the 28th, 29th and 30th June.

The Central Executive Committee of the party met yesterday and agreed to a date. News Source also understands that at the meeting, a proposed budget was laid out and various executive members have been given different tasks in realizing the budget to host the congress and elections.

The party is expected to make an official announcement about its congress date tomorrow.

Party members have been pressing the party’s leadership to set a date for the delegates congress and elections, and the party is gearing up for next year’s general elections.

At the last congress held in December 2021, Aubrey Norton, charged into the leadership position of the party with a landslide victory over Joe Harmon and Dr. Van West Charles.

Since then, however, several senior party members have expressed some unease with Norton’s leadership style, and have accused him of bypassing the party’s executive on major decisions and major issues. Norton has said he has been busy working on the ground in rebuilding the party.

He is expected to face some challengers for the position of party leader. Already, Senior Counsel and the party’s spokesman on Legal matters, Roysdale Forde, has indicated his interest in the leadership position, even rolling out a full campaign team.

Another Attorney and party executive member, Amanza Walton-Desir is likely to announce her availability to be nominated for the position of party leader. News Source understands that there could also be other possible candidates joining the race for PNCR Leader.
