The suspect in the gas station robbery in Linden, who bolted from the gas station after an alert cashier grabbed the weapon he had placed on the counter, has been arrested.

35-year-old Alex Pickering aka “Small Man” and “Awoahh” was arrested last evening at a boat landing in the town.

Police investigators have been looking for the man since the robbery incident last weekend, which was all caught on camera.

In the video recording, a man was seen with a gun demanding money from the cashier. As the young woman handed over the cash, the suspect placed his gun on the counter to sort out the money. It was then that the fast-thinking cashier grabbed the gun, forcing the man to run from the shop.

He was identified by a number of persons who saw the video. Armed robbery charges will be filed against him.
