The Guyana Police Force has arrested another one of its own who has run foul of the law. 31-year-old Police Officer, Sherman Ferguson, was arrested early this morning along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway with more than 75 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his car.

In a statement this afternoon, the Guyana Police Force explained that Ferguson was pulled over by other Police ranks during an intelligence led operation. News Source understands that officers were tipped off about the movement of the marijuana along the busy highway.

After pulling Ferguson over, the ranks discovered three large transparent plastic bags containing marijuana leaves, seeds, and stems. The marijuana trafficking Policeman was immediately arrested and told of the drug trafficking offence.

The marijuana was weighed in his presence and the Policeman could find himself before the Court on Friday or Monday.
