A 38-year-old man from Bath Settlement on the West Coast of Berbice has been taken into Police custody after he was nabbed with 92 pounds of marijuana in his motorcar.

According to a Police statement, the suspect, Ramall Ramdihal, was arrested at around 8:30 on Thursday night when ranks intercepted his motorcar parked at the side of the road in the Mahaicony village of Now or Never.

The man was questioned by the Police and after he could not provide a reason for being parked in the area, a search of his car was executed.

The large bags of marijuana was found in the trunk of the man’s car. In total, the Police said 15 parcels of marijuana were stashed in three large bags. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Police station, where he remains as the investigation continues.
