The results of the post-mortem examination conducted on the bodies of the two men found dead in a car in the Marriott parking lot on Saturday morning are inconclusive.

The post-mortem examination was conducted this morning.

As a result of the inconclusive findings, family members have been asked to bury and not cremate the bodies, in case there might be the need for further examination of the bodies as the investigations continue.

On Saturday morning, investigators and emergency medical services were called to the Parking lot of the Marriott hotel after the bodies of 34-year-old Justin Teixeira and 25-year-old Richie Hansraj were found in the front seat of Teixeira’s recently purchased Honda SUV.

The discovery was made by a hotel worker who decided to check the parking lot after receiving a call from a relative of Teixeira who requested that a check be made for him after he reportedly called a relative to complain that he was feeling ill.

The hotel worker first checked the man’s room after he was not found there, the check was made to the parking lot and it was there that the two bodies were found in the car.

Teixeira was found leaning back in the driver’s seat while the other man, Richie Hansran was found on the floor of the passenger side leaning onto the front passenger seat.

Investigators found a bottle in the back of the car with several pieces of a brick-like substance.

Several tests were carried out for narcotics on the substance, but those tests all came back negative. The crime investigators now believe that the substance is sodium cyanide which is very poisonous. They believe that the two men took their own lives by ingesting the substance. There were no visible marks of violence on the bodies and investigators do not suspect foul play.

They have been paying attention to the social media messages left behind by the two men. Hours before the bodies were found, one of the men, Richie Hansraj who was set to get married soon, made a post on Facebook saying that he hopes the world will find peace, and offering his love to all.

The older man, Justin Teixeira also made a post on his Facebook, saying that life is like a coin that can only be spent once.

Investigators are of the view that the final messages from the two men will be key to the probe.

Family members have been left devastated by the tragedy.

Teixeira was a flight attendant who was preparing to return to work after a long period off because of the pandemic. He lived in the US and would stay at the Marriott hotel whenever he visited Guyana.

The other young man, Richie Hansraj was a music producer and cultural singer who worked with local chutney stars.

The two men were close friends for more than four years and often traveled together. The bodies have been released to the family members for burial.
