Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Mottley rallied to a clean-sweep victory at her country’s early elections yesterday, winning all 30 seats in Parliament.

In offering congratulations on behalf of Guyana, President Irfaan Ali this morning said Mottley’s re-election provides Guyana and Barbados with the opportunity to concretize the plans and programmes that the two countries have discussed to build on the cooperation between Guyana and Barbados.

He said he also looks forward to the continued collaboration at the regional level, as the region endeavours to advance its integration process.

In a message, the Central Executive Committee, members and the Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) extended heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Mia Motley.

The PNC said the mandate that the Prime Minister has received from the people of Barbados is a clear indication that she is in touch with the people and that her policies have been redounded to the benefit of the people.

The PNCR said it has long enjoyed a productive association with the BLP and the party is therefore confident that the relationship will be strengthened as they both work for the betterment of their people and the improvement of the Caribbean Community.
