Republic Bank has started the new year right for a Georgetown husband and his wife after the husband won the bank’s latest mortgage promotion.

The bank has paid off the man’s 25-year mortgage worth $15 million as the grand prize.

The winner, Sian James showered the bank and the almighty for the win. He said he will now be able to save his money to take on other projects since he no longer has to worry about mortgage payments.

James said he is a happy customer of Republic Bank.

The 2nd place winner, Dwayne Gibson won a new refrigerator from the bank, while the 3rd place winner Andelle Pierre, walked away with a new six-burner stove.

The recently concluded promotion targeted all first-time homeowners who were seeking financing for purchase or construction up to a maximum value of $15M. The promotion featured included 95% financing for all borrowers, and in some cases even full financing, plus a chance to win prizes.

This category of mortgages which is the low-cost maximum, attracts very low rates, according to the bank.

The bank’s Managing Director, Stephen Grell said Republic Bank is committed to the growth that is taking place in Guyana and will be continuing to play its role.

The bank is expected to roll out a number of mortgage and other campaigns later this year.
