Linden businessman, Ron Singh, wants the Guyana Police Force to explain why it has issued a wanted bulletin for the man who saved his life by pulling him aside during a drive-by shooting incident, while ignoring the actual person who was identified as the shooter.
In a video statement on Facebook book today after the Police issued a wanted bulletin for Teon Allen in the shooting case, Mr. Singh explained that it was Teon Allen who is actually responsible for him being alive today.
He said he issued a statement to the Police just after the incident back in November identifying the shooter.
The young man was just outside his business place in Amelia’s Ward, Linden in the company of Allen and another man, when the occupant of a car opened fire on them in a drive-by style.
Singh was shot and rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and has since fully recovered.
He said he was left confused and shocked today when more than two months after the incident, the Police Force issued a wanted bulletin for the wrong man.
“Something ain’t sitting well with me right now. Today, the Guyana Police Force issued a wanted bulletin for one Teon Allen aka “Spoil Child”, well I am here to tell you that if it wasn’t for Teon Allen aka “Spoil Child”, I would have been dead, because if Teon didn’t save my life by pulling me, by naturally grabbing me and pulling me to safety, I would have been dead. So my question is to the Guyana Police Force, why was this bulletin issued when I give a statement, saying who the shooter was for that incident? So why is it the wrong person, a wanted bulletin was issued for”, the young businessman questioned.
The incident remains under probe, and it is suspected that Teon Allen, who has had previous brushes with the law, was the real target of the drive-by shooting.
The businessman said the Police issuing the wanted bulletin for the man who helped him to safety and not the actual shooter is confusing.
He said “Its a lot of ifs, because if a victim give you a statement pertaining to a matter, why is it that the wrong person, a wanted bulletin was issued for, so I am pleading with the upper heads of the Guyana Police Force to investigate this matter thoroughly. I am pleading with the US Embassy, the Canadian Embassy and the UK Embassy to investigate the matter of corruption in Guyana, because this is blatant corruption, this is not right because someone who save you cannot be your killer. Something smells very fishy, something is very off”.
Singh reiterated that Allen was not the perpetrator of the incident that left him nursing gunshot wounds, and he wants the Police to investigate the matter properly and go after the real shooters.
