Three Fishermen, including two teenagers, were this afternoon charged and remanded to jail over the chopping death of a 20-year-old man from Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo.
The dead man has been identified as Alvin aka Chuckaloo.
19-year-old, Arnold Bruce Kennedy, 19-year-old Tavish Mangra and 26-year-old, Richie Mahase, appeared before the Chief Magistrate and were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
It is alleged that on the 18th of July at Zeelugt, the three armed themselves with cutlasses and chopped the man about his body during an argument.
The injured man was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state with multiple chop wounds. He later died.
The murder case will continue at the Leonora Magistrates’ Court on the 6th August.
