The two latest fatalities have been identified as a 75-year-old man from Region Four and an 86-year-old woman from Region One.

The death toll from the Coronavirus in Guyana continues to climb along with new cases of the disease.

Today, the Health Ministry announced that 74 new cases of the disease and two more deaths have been recorded.

The two latest fatalities have been identified as a 75-year-old man from Region Four and an 86-year-old woman from Region One.

Guyana’s death toll now stands at 58 with six new deaths being recorded in the past three days.

Between March and July, Guyana recorded 20 COVID-19 deaths and in the past six weeks, the death toll jumped by 38.

The Health Ministry has not been saying much about the deaths or the continuous long wait for results. Persons continue to complain that they have to wait up to three weeks for their COVID-19 results.
