Two men who were nabbed by the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit last Friday in Parika with a quantity of cocaine have been charged and remanded to prison.

The men, Jared Kellawan and Jahdiel Kellawan, appeared in Court on Tuesday where they were slapped with drug trafficking charges. The two men pleaded not guilty, and were remanded.

During the operation last Friday, CANU ranks intercepted the men and one of them was found with a haversack packed with cocaine.

CANU said its investigations also led to the residence of Jared Kellawan, where CANU officers discovered an additional seven (7) brick-like parcels of cocaine.

The seized cocaine weighed more than 20 pounds. The two accused are expected back in Court in the new month.
