A 21-year-old man was remanded to jail today after being charged with the robbery of an undercover Police officer.
The incident reportedly took place on the 15th December at the Aces Nightclub. The policeman was relieved of his service weapon and other items, while being held up at gunpoint.
In Court today, the accused, Keaton Duke, denied the allegations laid out against him in the charge. However, the Court was told that the incident was captured on surveillance video recordings.
It was also explained to the Court that the Policeman, Julius Bowlin, was in the club on an undercover job when he was surrounded by a group of men and robbed.
However, it was a tip off that led to the discovery of the weapon and linked the accused to the crime. The Magistrate refused bail for the man and remanded him to jail until the 7th January.
