The British Government has named longtime foreign service officer, Joseph Fisher, as its new High Commissioner to Guyana and CARICOM.
Mr. Fisher will also serve as the Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Suriname. He is replacing High Commissioner Jane Miller, who recently retired after completing her tour of duty in Guyana.
The new High Commissioner is set to take up his new appointment in April.
According to a statement from the British Government, Mr. Fisher has worked in a number of senior Government positions in the UK and has represented the UK abroad.
His most recent job was the Private Secretary to the National Security Adviser in the British Government. He also previously worked as the Deputy Principal Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary.
