Unlawful wounding charged dismissed against woman after lover claims “its just a slight thing”

It was reported to the Court that on the 19th November, she stabbed the man at the Stabroek market during a row. However, in Court today, the victim made it clear that he would not be offering evidence against the woman, since according to him, the stab wound was just a "slight wound". He was stabbed three times to his abdomen.

The woman, who was arrested by Police and is under investigation for setting fire to a section of the Stabroek market wharf, had an unlawful wounding charge dismissed against her today.

The woman Quiana Major, appeared in Court to face the charge of unlawful wounding which is related to the stabbing of her reputed husband, Compton Ferrier.

It was reported to the Court that on the 19th November, she stabbed the man at the Stabroek market during a row. However, in Court today, the victim made it clear that he would not be offering evidence against the woman, since according to him, the stab wound was just a “slight wound”. He was stabbed three times to his abdomen.

With him withdrawing his complaint and refusing to provide evidence in the matter, the Court was forced to throw out the case against the accused.

She will remain under investigation as arson charges are likely to be made out against her soon. It is believed that on the same day that she stabbed the man, she went back to the market where he worked and set fire to his stall.

The fire spread and destroyed several other stalls before being extinguished by the fire service.
