The Special General Meeting and Elections of the Guyana Public Service Cooperative Credit Union will take place on Monday at the New Central High School, according to a notice published by the Committee of Management of the credit union.
With Monday being a holiday, the special meeting could see a record number of attendees.
The Credit Union was forced to call the meeting after it was ordered by the Court.
Two members of the Credit Union had moved to the Court seeking the special meeting and elections.
The incumbent Committee of Management is facing a tough challenge to remain in the decision making position as former Chairman Trevor Benn leads a list of candidates into the elections.
Benn was removed as Chairman of the Credit Union after some other management members complained about his style of running the credit union.
Despite the fallout between Benn and the current Committee of Management, he remains popular among members of the Credit Union who were supportive of many of the initiatives that he implemented as Chairman.
