Investigators from the Guyana Police Force and other law enforcement agencies are still probing the discovery of a semi-submersible vessel and Go-fast boat in Guyana’s waters.
The semi-submersible vessel was seized recently during a joint services operation in the North West District.
It has since been transported to Georgetown, and according to Home Affairs Minister, Robeson Benn, the seizure represents a significant blow against illegal maritime activities in Guyana’s territorial waters.
He said the joint security forces remain vigilant and will continue to crack down on any attempts to engage in nefarious operations that threaten our national security.

The vessel was found back in April in a creek just of the Port Kaituma River.
Meanwhile, a go-fast vessel which was also seized by a joint police operation, resulting in the arrest of four persons, including one Colombian national, is also being probed.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said it remains committed to safeguarding the nation’s borders and territorial integrity, while employing robust measures to combat illicit activities that undermine the rule of law and public safety.
