Semi-submersible vessel found in North West District

The Security Forces in Guyana are probing the discovery of a semi-submersible vessel in the North West District in Region One on Saturday.

The vessel was found in the Paiana Creek in Port Kaituma on Saturday afternoon by the Police.

This vessel was found hidden under trollie leaves, and a makeshift camp was also found nearby.

There was no one found on the vessel or nearby, but investigators said on the inside of the vessel, they discovered, 15 sandbags and six cases of water.

Back in March, a US patrol off the coast of Guyana found a similar vessel packed with cocaine. The four crew members aboard were arrested and transferred to the United States to face charges.
