45-year-old Bartica resident, Faizal Husman, died tragically this morning when he lost control of his pickup and slammed into a truck along the Eight Mile Trail at Teperu in Bartica.
The accident occurred at around 6:45am, according to a Police report.
The Police report stated that after Husman’s pickup slammed into the truck that was traveling in the opposite direction, it burst into flames with Husman trapped in it. He was burnt beyond recognition.
The driver and occupants of the truck were assisted by passersby and taken to the Bartica Hospital for medical attention.
The Guyana Fire Service was summoned to the scene, and on arrival, the firemen extinguished the fire. The burnt body of the Pickup driver was removed from the wreckage and taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital. The tragedy is under probe.
