Police probing murder of 16-year-old boy in Kitty

Police investigators have launched a probe into the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy from Kitty in Georgetown. The incident occurred early on Monday morning at Gordon Street in Kitty, and investigators have revealed that a 22-year-old man is the main suspect.

According to a report from the Police, just before 1 o’ clock on Monday morning, the teenager and the 22-year-old man got into an argument on the roadside, which quickly escalated into a fight.

It was reported that during the fight, the 22-year-old pulled a knife from his pants, and started to stab the 16-year-old.

The injured teen started to run away from his assailant, but collapsed on the roadway a short distance away, while the assailant escaped from the scene.

The Police and Emergency Medical Services were contacted, and they rushed the injured teen to the Georgetown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by one of the doctors on duty.

The Police said the crime scene has since been processed and searches are underway for the 22-year-old suspect. The probe continues.
