Police investigators are looking for a suspect in the murder of a 34-year-old labourer from Riverview in Ruimveldt who was stabbed to death on Wednesday evening.

The name of the suspect has not been released, but the Police said based on information received, he is 22-years-old.

He is wanted for the stabbing death of 34-year-old Dellon Waterman.

According to a Police report, Waterman intervened in an assault of his 9-year-old nephew by the 22-year-old man.

The two men reportedly got into a heated confrontation that quickly escalated into a fight. It was during that fight that the 22-year-old armed himself with a knife and attacked the older man, stabbing him to the chest before running away from the scene.

Waterman fell to the ground with his injuries and by the time he was taken to the Georgetown Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The investigations into the murder are ongoing.
