A Taxi Driver was today placed $25,000 after it was alleged that he made a wrong turn and drove his female passenger to a location that was not requested and made sexual advances to her.

26-year-old, Joel Withon of Grove, East Bank Demerara, stood before Magistrate Fabayo Azore and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge

The charge stated that on the 19th July in South Ruimveldt, the virtual complainant, the young woman hired the car to take her to Providence, but the defendant took her to another location and made sexual advances towards her.

The taxi driver, pleaded not guilty to the change and was placed on $25,000 bail.

He will next court appearance on the 27th August.
