Police investigators are probing the murder of 29-year-old West Bank Demerara driver, Bharrat Gendalall.
The Canal #2 man was stabbed to the chest on Saturday evening, when a group of masked men attacked him in his yard. The motive behind the attack remains unknown. The Police statement indicated that moments before Gendalall was stabbed to death, he was attacked by a man just outside his yard.
The man left the area after punching him.
It was just after that incident, that the five men appeared in his yard.
The Police said the injured 29-year-old was rushed to the West Demerara Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment. Other persons in the area who witnessed the attack have been contacted by the Police and have provided statements about the attack and the vehicle the men arrived and left in, during the attack.
The probe is ongoing.
