Police investigators are probing the gruesome murder of Campbellville resident, Amit Singh during a reported gold sale at a house in Middle Road, La Penitence on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Singh was lured to the house by a group of men who convinced him that they had gold to sell at a cheap rate.
A Police report indicated that Singh arrived at the Middle Road house with a large quantity of money to purchase the gold, but he was attacked and brutally murdered by the four men inside the house.
His body was wrapped in a sheet and left in the house, according to the Police.
The suspects escaped from the property, leaving the man’s lifeless body behind. However, Police investigators were alerted, and after receiving information, they were able to arrest one of the suspects.
The Police said the arrested suspect has since confessed to the crime and is now assisting the investigators with the murder probe and the identity of the other suspects.
