The man, Bhoula Persaud aka "Daniel" was accused of breaking into various fowl pens and not a lion's den at Enmore on several occasions, and carting off poultry belonging to different residents.

The chickens have come home to roost for a 33-year-old Enmore, East Coast Demerara man, who admitted in Court to two counts of larceny related to the theft of a quantity of chickens.

The man, Bhoula Persaud aka “Daniel” was accused of breaking into various fowl pens and not a lion’s den at Enmore on several occasions, and carting off poultry belonging to different residents.

He appeared in Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to two of the five charges. The Magistrate sentenced him to 12 months in jail following his admission to simple larceny and the case on the remaining three matters will continue in June.

The accused did not say much during his Court appearance, and has since started his time behind bars.
