Police investigators are becoming increasingly worried about the number of murders already recorded for this year. On Tuesday afternoon, the body of a 26-year-old Timber Company supervisor was found in his living quarters at the company East Bank Demerara location.
According to reports the young man who has been identified Kemraj Singh had not been seen at work or heard from for most of Tuesday. Some workmates eventually decided to make a check in his room where they discovered his body with several wounds and bruises and a slash to the throat.
The Guyana Police Force has started an investigation into the incident and that probe could take investigators all the way to Essequibo where it is believed the man spent a few days before returning to work. There are reports that he was involved in an altercation with another man while visiting his home town.
