Assistant Police Commissioner Balram Persaud remains hospitalised with serious injuries after being involved in an accident on Friday night.
He was rushed to a city hospital after losing control of his Police Force issued, Nissan Fuga motor car, and slamming in to an electricity pole close to the Demerara Harbour Bridge. The accident occurred close to midnight. It is unclear where he may have been heading.
He was pulled from the wreckage and immediately taken to the hospital.
Doctors have been monitoring him closely ever since. News Source understands that Mr. Persaud has had a number of serious medical complications in the past and his medical team are also paying attention to those conditions.
He remains in a critical condition.
