The Guyana Police Force today issued a wanted bulletin for 26-year-old Navindra Ramsammy aka “Bandit”.
The Bartica resident is wanted in connection with the discovery of four high-powered weapons and ammunition.
During an operation, the Police went to a mining camp in the Blackwater Backdam on Saturday in search of the suspect in relation to another illegal weapon investigation.
Once at the mining camp, the camp owner under questioning told investigators that the suspect had already moved out of the area but had left items buried around the mining camp in three areas.
An investigation of the areas unearthed the four high-powered weapons and ammunition.
A search was carried out in nearby areas and the suspect has so far been able to successfully evade law enforcement.
The seized weapons and ammunition were brought out of the area. Investigators suspect they may have been smuggled from a neighboring country into Guyana. Tests are to be carried out on the weapons.
The Guyana Police Force is seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect, Navindra Ramsammy. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the nearest Police station.
